Solid State Disk in coming closer to normal hand like me now, SanDisk has just posted on their website about this new third-generation solid state disk. The MSRPs price for 60GB, 120GB, and 240GB is $149, $249, and $499. With this relatively low pricing, I sure can enter the mass market. The SSD can compare with 40,000 rpm HDD, and using 50% less power. Giving that the SSD doesn’t have any moving parts, therefore I can boot my notebook on the run.
But what my concern are how long are the servicing life, in actual daily usage (not the marketing stat), and the read/write error.
Hope to get my hand on the actual product to test it out.
